Yes, the BDB Platform has built-in 70+ standard connectors for RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL), Big Data, social media, APIs, etc. It also provides the capability to write a custom data connector to a proprietary database like IBM DB2 where a license needs to be embedded inside the connector.
Yes, BDB Platform supports direct CSV File upload via Data Sandbox and also there is provision to read from AWS S3, Azure blob, SFTP location.
Yes, the BDB Platform supports SSAS SQL Server analysis service.
Yes, the BDB Platform has a built-in SAP HANA data connector and also OData connector.
Yes, BDB Data Center has a built-in data connector for google analytics.
BDB Platform has the inbuilt capability of VCS (Version Control System) for keeping track of the changes. In BDB Data Center, under Data Set and Data Store, we have options for Push to VCS (Export to VCS) & Pull from VCS (import from VCS) options are present to import/Export cube/dataset from VCS to keep track of the changes.
BDB Data Store automatically deducts time series generation with hierarchy from year/month/week/day & hours/minutes/seconds level.
BDB Platform enables financial and calendar year in the Time dimension hierarchy.
BDB Data Store has a scheduler to schedule the data refresh. Data Set/Dat Store can be refreshed from the BDB Data Center module. The Schedule Data Refresh option in Data Sets and Data Store helps to set refresh at the defined interval - Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly with any customizations as the requirement.
Yes, Rank/Dense rank can be achieved using the Data Set and shown in the Reports.
Yes, the BDB Platform provides report bursting at a scheduled interval and an open-document link of the dashboard or PDF export of the report can be delivered over specified emails.
The BDB Platform enables to deliver output in form of excel/csv file and write it to a file system.
Yes, the BDB Platform has an open document feature that generates a token-based link for the dashboard and self-service which can be integrated with other applications. BDB Platform has built-in capability for publishing the data as API and data science (advanced analytics) model as API.
Yes, In BDB Platform Trusted Authentication can be used to support authentication methods such as SAML, x.509, and other methods which do not have dedicated authentication plugins. If your application server can work as a SAML service provider, you can use Trusted Authentication to provide SAML SSO to the BDB platform.
BDB Platform doesn’t have any internal data cache. We leverage the Analytics data base which is the physical data model. On top of the Physical data model, Platform provides logical views which are exposed as services for data dissemination. These data services are controlled via RBAC.
Logical data model built inside the platform can be version controlled.
Yes, Platform supports ability to add new data sources based on the RBAC. User can create data services (Logical data model) on top of these new data sources for consumption in dashboards. Modification of the pre-configured data services (logical data model) can be prevented via RBAC.
Platform provides plugin for Data preparation. Data preparation module have 65+ transformations which can be used for data wrangling which can be applied visually. Access to the data preparation is controlled via RBAC.
Dashboard/Visualisation is developed on top of the structured data. BDB Platform provides plugins like Data Pipeline & Data Science Labs to handle semi-structured and un-structured data.
BDB Platform doesn’t use any in-memory cache for Dashboards. All the services are pass through queries which get executed at the database level. Hence it doesn’t need any time to refresh when the data has changed/updated.
BDB platform have the ability to enable a write functionality from dashboard using the API Ingestion component of pipeline.
The BDB Platform can be hosted either on-premise in the customer's data center or in the public/Private cloud. The choice of hosting option is entirely up to the customer, based on their needs and requirements.
Yes, the BDB Platform provides Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), etc.
Yes, the BDB provides Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities to its customers.
BDB is a flexible software as a service (SaaS) offering that can be deployed in a variety of environments, including both cloud and on-premise infrastructures. This means that clients have the choice of where they want to host their BDB solution, based on their specific requirements and preferences. BDB is designed to be highly portable and can be installed on a wide range of cloud infrastructures, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). If clients are unsure about which cloud service to use, BDB can provide recommendations based on their specific needs and requirements. This flexibility and customization ensure that clients can deploy BDB in a way that meets their specific needs and helps them achieve their desired business outcomes. By providing options for deployment, BDB helps organizations maximize their investment in technology and achieve their desired results.
The specific location for hosting the BDB platform is determined based on the customer's requirements and their preferred cloud service provider.
BDB intimates customers regarding the latest upgrades release and based on their approvals patches/new versions get updated to their production environment. We refrain from applying random updates and upgrades to the customer environment.
The customer would get all the updates in a controlled manner i.e. our team first applies them to a non-prod environment, tests them thoroughly, and only after successful testing, these updates are applied to the Customer Production environment on a specific date and time.
BDB provides various modules to integrate with the other systems:
Data Connector: The users can easily connect to and work with a wide range of data sources as we support 60+ data connectors including Big Data, Databases, and cloud applications. This makes it to access and analyze large amounts of data and gain valuable insights into the business process and customer behavior.
Data Pipeline:
BDB data pipeline provides the reader and consumer components to retrieve data from various sources and publish it to a specified destination, such as a database or data lake.
Organizations can automate the process of extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources into a centralized repository with the help of the BDB Data Pipeline.
The data blending feature allows users to combine and merge data from different sources into a single stream, providing a unified view of the data. This can help organizations make better data-driven decisions and improve the accuracy of their insights. Additionally, the pipeline components can be configured to handle different data formats and structures, making it easier to integrate with a wide range of data sources.
Data As API: The Data as API feature exposes data from various sources as a REST API. Exposing data through APIs can facilitate the development of custom integrations and applications, increasing the value of the data.
Yes, BDB provides connectivity to APIs through the Data pipeline module. The API connector provided by the BDB is a key component in integrating with the external APIs. This connector allows the BDB Platform to communicate with the external APIs, collect data from them, and bring it into the Data Pipeline for processing. By utilizing the API connector, organizations can easily connect with the data sources such as social media platforms, weather services, or any other external API that provides data of interest. Data Pipeline: BDB Data Pipelines include various components to help manage and process large amounts of data effectively. One of the key components is the API ingestion component. Data Connector: BDB supports over 60+ different data connectors, including popular databases like MongoDB, MySQL, and Oracle, API connectors, Twitter, YouTube, and more. This wide range of connectors provides a great deal of flexibility and enables organizations to easily integrate BDB with a variety of data sources.
BDB contains the Data as API feature to expose the data from various sources as a REST API to facilitate the development of custom integrations and applications by increasing the value of the data.
Yes, Data as APIs in the BDB platform is well-documented, providing a high level of transparency and ease of integration. The Admin module of the platform provides access to the details of all the registered APIs.
BDB's low-code/no-code approach allows users to integrate these systems with minimal coding, reducing the time and resources required for integration. As BDB provides specific components and connectors for integration purposes.
BDB offers extensibility feature that enables users to write custom scripts using Python. Python scripting feature allows for flexibility and customization, enabling users to build custom logic and perform complex integrations that may not be achievable with the built-in components and connectors. With the ability to write custom scripts, users can automate repetitive tasks, integrate with external systems, and even develop entirely new features and capabilities to meet their unique business needs.
BDB also provides the ability to write custom JavaScript, to create customized visualizations within the BDB's Dashboard Designer module. The JavaScript integration allows users to add dynamic interactivity and animation to their visualizations.
