# Project Definition and Requirements

The scope of this project is to build a data platform for an MNC with multisite manufacturing plants to lay a data foundation to implement Manufacturing Use cases which lay the foundation for Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing.

### **The high-level scope for the project is as follows:**

* [x] Configure and set up a Data Platform with the necessary tools and technologies required to support the functional, non-functional, and technical requirements. Data Platform set up is not limited to setting up Dev, Test, and Production Environments in Cloud but On-Premises as well.
* [x] Set up a Sandbox environment within the data platform for building a data foundation to support advanced analytics use cases.
* [x] Ingest, curate, and process data from MES systems, factory applications, enterprise applications, data repositories, and databases into the data lake and enterprise Datawarehouse as required to build the data foundation for their multi-Plants and 1 R\&D Unit.
* [x] Build End-to-End Traceability solution (Ingest, curate, process, and store data for enabling E2E Traceability. Co-relate and stitch the various data sets into one meaningful data schema. Generate insights and search capability to track and trace products from procurement of raw materials to end customers.

### **High-Level Requirements**

The client intends to implement an Enterprise Datawarehouse to manage the challenges that are currently faced within reporting, dashboards, and data management. This would enable an enterprise view of the client data and empower business users for self-service reporting and analytics. The following diagram provides a high-level conceptual view of the future data platform (illustrative).
