Mixed Chart
A Mixed chart combines column and line charts to visualize up to three data series at once. It's ideal for highlighting categorical differences and comparing related measures simultaneously.
A Mixed chart, which integrates a column chart and a line chart into a single visualization, is an exceptionally versatile tool for data analysis. Plotting up to three distinct data series simultaneously, it allows you to showcase complex relationships and highlight key insights that might be overlooked in separate, more fragmented charts.
The power of this chart lies in its dual-purpose design:
Column Chart: This component is ideal for highlighting differences across categories. The height of each column instantly communicates the magnitude of a value, making it easy to compare discrete data points—such as sales per region, lead count per month, or product units sold.
Line Chart: This component is best used for comparing related measures and revealing trends over time. The continuous flow of the line effectively illustrates how a value changes, making it simple to spot growth, decline, or cyclical patterns.
When combined, these two chart types provide a richer context. For example, imagine you're analyzing sales data. You could use the columns to represent the total monthly revenue, clearly showing which months were most profitable. At the same time, a line could plot the average deal size over the same period. This single view would not only show you your highest-earning months but also help you understand why they were so successful—whether it was due to a high volume of small sales or a few high-value deals.
This synergistic approach provides a comprehensive narrative, helping you to connect the dots between different data sets and make more informed decisions.

Best use case: Comparing multiple categories or emphasizing a particular series of information.
Example: Analyzing a company’s budget vs. revenue over time.
Variations
Stacked Columns: Combine multiple categories on top of each other for cumulative comparisons.
Side-by-Side Columns: Place columns next to each other for easier category comparisons.
Colored Columns: Apply different colors to draw immediate attention to important categories.
Default Behavior
When selected, the Mixed chart displays one column series and one line series by default.
If more than one measure is added, the Secondary Value Axis can be enabled.
