Data Preparation - from the Data Center
Learn how to create a report from a Data Store that has been generated in the Data Center using a Data Sandbox file with applied Data Preparation steps.
This workflow enables you to first prepare and transform raw Sandbox data, save it as a Data Store, and then build reports on top of it.
Workflow Overview
Apply Data Preparation to a Sandbox file in the Data Center.
Create a Data Store with the saved Data Preparation steps.
Use the newly created Data Store to create a report in the Report module.
Apply Data Preparation to Sandbox File
Navigate to Data Center > Data Sandbox list.
Select a Sandbox file.
Click the Create Data Preparation option for the selected file.
You are redirected to the Data Preparation module.
Apply transformations:
Use the Transforms tab for manual data cleaning.
Click Auto Prep to apply automated transforms.
Review applied transformations under the Steps tab.
Provide a name for the Data Preparation.
Click Save.
A notification confirms that the Data Preparation is saved.
Create a Data Store with Data Preparation
From the Sandbox list, click the Create Data Store icon for the same Sandbox file.
In the Create Data Store window:
Provide a Data Store Name.
Add a Description (optional).
Select the saved Data Preparation from the drop-down menu.
Click Validate.
A note confirms that the Data Preparation has been applied and unsupported headers (if any) have been modified.
Click Save.
A notification confirms that Data Store creation has started.
The Data Store is added to the Data Store list.
Monitor the job status until it shows Running.
Open the Notifications panel to confirm that data has been successfully loaded.
Create a Report Using the Prepared Data Store
From the homepage, click the Report icon or select Create New Report.
In the Create New Report window:
Provide a Report Name.
Add a Description (optional).
Select Existing Data Store as the source.
Choose the newly created Data Store (with Data Preparation applied) using the checkbox.
Click Create Report.
