Date-based View Filter

A Date-based View Filter allows you to focus on specific data points and trends within a chosen time frame.

A Date-based View Filter allows users to refine chart data using specific date ranges or relative time periods. This functionality is useful for time-based analysis such as tracking performance over weeks, months, or years.

Applying a Date Range Filter

  1. Open the Design page for a View.

  2. Click the Filter icon.

  3. The Filter panel opens, displaying available filter values.

  4. Select a Dimension or Measure containing Date values.

    • Use the search bar to quickly locate date fields.

  5. From the filter condition drop-down, select Between.

  6. Provide the From and To dates.

  7. Click the Apply icon.

The selected View is now filtered according to the specified date range.

Applying a Relative Date Filter

  1. Create or open a View with a Date Dimension.

  2. Click the Filter icon in the Design page.

  3. In the Filter panel, select a Date Dimension.

  4. From the filter condition drop-down, select Relative.

  5. Insert a period by selecting required values:

    • Time Scope: Last or This

    • Interval Type: Years, Months, Weeks, or Days

  6. Example: Last 5 Years

  7. Click the Apply icon.

The View updates to reflect data filtered by the selected relative time condition.

Notes:

  • The Relative option helps automate dynamic filtering, ensuring dashboards stay up-to-date (e.g., always show This Month or Last 7 Days).

  • The same steps can be used to apply a Global Filter based on date values across all Views in a Report.

  • Use Between for fixed date range analysis, and Relative for rolling/periodic analysis.
