Exclude from the Global Filter

This page explains how to exclude a View from the global filter application.

By default, a Global Filter applies to all Views in a Report that are created using the same Data Store. However, in certain scenarios, a user may want to exclude a specific View from being affected. The Exclude from Global Filter option allows this control, ensuring the selected View always displays its full dataset regardless of global filter criteria.

Steps to Exclude a View from Global Filter

  1. Navigate to the Report.

  2. Select the desired View.

  3. Click the Options (⋮) icon for that View.

  4. Select Edit.

  5. The View opens in Design mode.

  6. Click the Properties icon.

  7. Enable the Exclude Global Filter option in the Properties tab.

  8. Click the Save icon.

  9. A notification confirms the update.

  10. You are redirected back to the Report’s final screen.

After Applying the Global Filter

  • Apply a Global Filter as usual (refer to the Global Filter documentation for details).

  • All Views created from the same Data Store are updated according to the filter, except the excluded View.

  • The excluded View is marked with a Global Filters Excluded icon.

  • The excluded View remains unchanged, displaying the original unfiltered data.

Example

  • A Report has five Views created from the same Data Store.

  • A Global Filter by Region = North is applied.

  • Four Views are updated to display only North data.

  • The excluded View remains unaffected, still showing data for all regions.

Notes:

  • Views from different Data Stores in the Report are automatically unaffected by Global Filters.

  • Use this option for exception Views where broader context or complete dataset visibility is required.

  • Exclusion is View-specific; you must configure each View individually if multiple Views need exclusion.
