Time Series
A Time Series (Timeline) Chart is used to evaluate patterns and behaviors in data over time. It plots observations on the Y-axis against equally spaced time intervals on the X-axis, such as days, weeks, months, or years.
Time Series charts help uncover trends, seasonal variations, anomalies, and comparisons across groups. They are highly effective for monitoring KPIs, forecasting, and identifying changes over time.
Best Situations to Use
Use a Time Series chart when you want to:
Compare data patterns across multiple groups over time.
Examine daily, weekly, monthly, or annual variations of a product, metric, or entity.
Identify long-term trends, seasonality, or cyclical behavior.
Highlight threshold breaches or anomalies in KPIs.

Example
Using the sample dataset:
Category: Timeline (e.g., months of the year).
Series: Sales, Expenses, Profit.
The resulting Time Series Chart displays monthly sales trends, with options for stacked or clustered comparisons and threshold/annotation highlighting.
