Dimension Profiling

Quickly analyze and visualize summary statistics of a selected dimension using Dimension Profiling, then save the resulting chart as a View within your report.

This feature provides additional insights into dimensions by displaying data profile information (such as counts) and allows you to bring those insights directly into the report design canvas.

Steps to Save a View with Dimension Profiling

1

Open the Design Page

  • Navigate to the Design page/Design canvas of a report.

  • Ensure the data store has loaded.

2

Select Dimension Profile

  • From the list of displayed Dimensions, click the Information () icon next to a dimension.

  • A new window opens showing the Data Profile information with value counts for the selected dimension.

3

Move Profile to Design

  • In the Data Profile window, click the MOVE TO DESIGN ()icon.

  • The data profile chart is added automatically to the Design canvas.

4

Modify the View (optional)

  • Click the Chart Properties icon.

  • In the Chart Properties window, apply modifications such as:

    • Sorting (e.g., ascending/descending).

    • Order by a selected field.

    • Limit records (e.g., display top 10 results).

5

Save the View

  • Click the Save View() icon.

  • A confirmation notification appears.

  • The saved View is added to the final report screen.

Notes:

  • Dimension Profiling charts provide immediate frequency distribution for categorical data.

  • Profiling is useful to detect dominant values, outliers, or unexpected distributions before deeper analysis.

  • Views saved via Dimension Profiling behave like any other View and can be further customized or exported.
