The Designer homepage serves as the central workspace for creating, managing, and customizing dashboards and workspaces. From here, users can start a new design, open existing dashboards or templates, manage preferences, or explore guided help to get familiar with the various options of the Designer module.

Navigation Menu: Available Options and Tasks

The Home/landing page of the Designer module features a navigation menu on the left side with the following options:

• New Create a new dashboard or workspace to design and organize Views into meaningful visual stories.

• Manage Access, update, or modify previously created dashboards and workspaces.

• Open Open an existing dashboard file saved locally, or load a predefined template to start designing quickly.

• Preferences Configure layout, theme, or other settings to customize the look, feel, and behavior of a dashboard.

• Save as Save the current dashboard with a different name, creating a duplicate while preserving the original.

• Take a tour Launch a Guided Tour dialog box that introduces users to the key features and actions of the Designer homepage, helping new users get familiar with the environment.

• Exit Close the Designer plugin.

Best Practices

• Use Open when reusing dashboards or templates to save setup time.

• Start with Take a Tour if you are new to the Designer to quickly learn its features.

• Use Save As to preserve a version history or create variations of a dashboard without losing the original.

• Regularly set preferences to maintain a consistent design style across reports.
