Users can also create a new Data Store on the top of a Data Sandbox using the Create Datastore option.
A Data Store is a curated, structured, and reusable data asset created from a prepared dataset inside the Data Sandbox. It converts an ad-hoc uploaded file into an enterprise-quality, governed data asset that can be consumed reliably by BI dashboards, Data Agents, AI/ML models, and downstream pipelines.
Purpose & Value
Creating a Data Store on top of a Sandbox file allows teams to:
Convert raw, user-uploaded files into governed enterprise data
Avoid repeated manual cleaning and transformation
Provide consistent data access for analytics and reporting
Maintain traceability, version control, and metadata management
Accelerate Data Agent and AI/ML use cases with clean structured data
Step-by-step Process
1
Go to Data Sandbox
From the left menu, click Data Center → My Connectors.
On the top middle, select the Data Sandbox tab (next to Data Store and Data Sheet).
In the right-hand panel, you’ll see the list of Sandbox files (e.g., Sample CSV).
2
Choose the Sandbox File
Locate the Sandbox file you want to convert into a Data Store.
Click the Options menu at the end of that row.
From the dropdown, select Create Datastore.
3
Fill in Data Store Details
A Create Data Store panel opens on the right. Fill the fields:
Datastore Name* – e.g. Sample Sandbox Data Store
Description – short business description (e.g. Demo)
Data Preparation – select the preparation you created on this Sandbox file (e.g. prep7).
Note: Users will be asked to perform data preparation if the selected sandbox file does not contain proper headings.
4
Validate the Data Store
Click Validate at the bottom-right.
A note appears (green box) confirming that Data Preparation is applied and unsupported headers have been modified.
5
Create the Data Store
After successful validation, click Save.
A message appears at the top: “Data store creation is initiated. This may take a few minutes.”
6
Check Notification & Confirm Creation
Click the Notifications icon () on the top bar.
Open the message titled “Datastore Notification for <your datastore name>”.
It confirms: “Data loaded to datastore ‘Sample Sandbox Data Store’ and synonyms creation is completed.”
7
View the new Data Store
Go back to Data Center → My Connectors.
Select the Data Store tab (instead of Data Sandbox).
In the right-hand list, you’ll see your newly created Sample Sandbox Data Store available for use by reports, Data Agents, DSL, etc.
