Restricting Data by User Custom Fields
This page describes the steps to restrict data using the user level custom fields.
It is possible to restrict data access for a user of a Data Agent using the Custom Fields option within the Security module. By configuring Custom Fields, you can specify that the Data Agent will only permit access to data of the South region for that particular user, as indicated by the image.
Navigate to the Security module.
Access the Update User page for an existing user. You may also configure this for a new user.
Go to the Custom Fields section.
Put South as the value for the Region custom field.
While using the Data Agent interface for such a user, the data search will also be filtered by the configured data restriction value. E.g., the data agent will display only South region data for this user.
Access the Data Agent interface for the same user.
Ask a query where the region is included.
The response generated from the Data Agent is restricted to the South region for the user.
