Action Menu

This page explains more actions associated to a dashboard.

Use the Action menu (More Actions) to preview, export, rename, delete/restore, move, view info, and save a dashboard as a template.

Access the Action menu

  1. Go to Designer → Manage.

  2. Open a Workspace and locate your dashboard.

  3. Click the More Actions icon next to the dashboard name.

Preview Dashboard

Open the selected dashboard in Preview mode.

Steps

  1. From Manage, select your dashboard → click More Actions.

  2. Click Preview.

Please Note: The user gets the Preview icon on the Designer canvas header as well.

Export to Local Disk

Export the selected dashboard to your computer (e.g., .bvzx).

Steps

  1. From Manage, select your dashboard → click More Actions.

  2. Click Export to Local Disk.

Rename

Change the displayed name of a previously created dashboard.

Steps

  1. From Manage, select your dashboard → click More Actions.

  2. Click Rename.

  3. In the Rename window, enter a new name.

  4. Click Rename.

Delete (and Restore)

Delete a dashboard

  1. From Manage, select your dashboard → click More Actions.

  2. Click Delete.

  3. In the confirmation pop-up, click Remove.

Restore a deleted dashboard

  1. From the Designer homepage, click Manage.

  2. Navigate to the Trash workspace under the list of all the workspaces.

  3. Select the deleted dashboard → click Restore.

  4. In the Restore window, select a Workspace and click Restore.

Move to (Move a Dashboard)

Move a dashboard from one workspace to another.

Steps

  1. From Manage, select your dashboard → click More Actions.

  2. Click Move to.

  3. In Move to Another Workspace, choose a Workspace from the dropdown.

  4. Click Move.

Information Icon

View metadata about the dashboard.

Steps

  1. From Designer HomepageManage.

  2. Select a Workspace and then a Dashboard.

  3. Click the Action menu icon for that dashboard.

  4. Click the Info icon.

Dashboard as Template

Save a dashboard as a template and reuse it from the Templates gallery.

Save as Template

  1. Navigate to the saved dashboards list using Manage.

  2. Select a dashboard → click More ActionsSave as Template.

  3. In the Save as Template dialog, provide the Template Name.

  4. Click Save.

Use Templates

  1. From the Designer homepage, go to Left Navigation Panel → Open → Templates.

  2. The Dashboard Templates page lists all available templates, including the one you just saved.

Template actions

  • Open as a dashboard

    • Opens all dragged charting components in the Designer canvas view without the inserted scripts and without the mapped data connection for that dashboard.

  • Preview Template

    • Opens the template in preview mode and allows the inserted functionality together with the mapped dataset for the preview.
