Copy Paste Chart Properties

Use Copy/Paste Properties to synchronize display settings across multiple charting components for a quick, visually consistent dashboard.

The Copy Properties and Paste Properties functions offer a significant efficiency boost in dashboard design by allowing you to instantly synchronize the visual settings across disparate charting components. Rather than manually replicating complex configurations—like font sizes, label orientations, axis formatting, or color palettes—you can simply copy the entire display configuration from a source chart and paste it onto any other chart. This rapid alignment ensures all dashboard elements share a cohesive and visually consistent presentation, saving time and guaranteeing a polished, professional look that reinforces clarity for the end-user.

Supported Component Properties

The Copy & Paste Properties option supports the following:

• Title Properties

• Subtitle Properties

• X-Axis Properties

• Y-Axis Properties

• Legend Properties

Note: Only the display/configuration properties listed above are copied. Data bindings and datasets are not affected.

Steps

1. Open a dashboard in the Designer canvas.

2. Identify the source chart whose properties you want to reuse.

3. Right-click the source chart to open the component context menu.

4. Click Copy Properties.

   • The properties of the selected chart are copied to the clipboard.

5. Locate the target chart you want to align.

6. Right-click the target chart to open its context menu.

7. Click Paste Properties.

   • The copied properties are applied to the target chart.

• The target component instantly displays the copied properties of the source component. You can also Preview the dashboard to verify the applied changes.

Notes:

• You can apply copied properties to one component at a time. To update multiple components, repeat the paste steps for each target.

• For best results, paste between compatible chart types so that axis and legend settings map cleanly.

Tips:

• Establish a style reference chart (with finalized title, axis, and legend settings), then copy from it to other charts to standardize your dashboard.

• After pasting, do a quick Preview to confirm axis labels, legend placement, and subtitle text render as expected.

Troubleshooting

• Paste Properties is disabled or has no effect: Ensure you first used Copy Properties on a valid source chart.

• Unexpected axis/legend behavior: Check that the target chart supports the same axis/legend options; adjust manually if needed.

• Only some settings changed: Only the supported display properties (Title, Subtitle, X-Axis, Y-Axis, Legend) are transferred.
