# Data Catalog Settings

The admin can configure the details of the Data Catalog that needs to be saved. This settings option is essential for using the Data Catalog search feature.

* Click the ***Data Catalog Settings*** option from the ***Configurations*** menu.

* The ***Data Catalog Settings*** page opens.
* Select either of the options out of the ***Standard*** or ***SRV*** options.
* The user needs to configure the following fields:
  * Username
  * Password
  * IP/Host
  * Port (This field does not appear when the SRV option is selected to save the data.)
  * Database Name
* Click the ***Validate*** option to validate the entered details.

* A notification message appears to confirm that the details are validated.
* Click the ***Save*** option to save the data in the given database.

* A notification message appears to confirm that the Data Catalog Settings have got saved.
